Steven Reeves

President | Owner

From learning how to sail at the age of four (with the guidance of our original Founders Doug & Dixie Bacon along with his Mom and Dad) to Racing with World Class Sailors in multiple One Design Boating events throughout the U.S.; Steve has surely made a name for himself throughout the Chesapeake Bay boating community. Having been a part of Bacon’s, in some way or another, his entire life; It was very natural for him to take the reins as the families Second Generation President, after the passing of Dixie “MA” Bacon in 2008. When he is not here in the store, You may find Steve putting around on his Mariner 36 sloop, Defever Trawler, Frostbiting on his Cal 25, or Racing with the Farr 30’s. Given his broad racing background, it may come at a surprise when he says, that one of his top favorite racing events is on a Steel-Hull Schooner named “Sally B”, racing down the Chesapeake Bay for the GCBSR. With the well rounded knowledge of sailing he has to offer, many friends and customers will come in just to chat about boats….and if you ask him…that’s what its all about!

Mike Myers

Front Desk

Mike is truly a genuine guy that brings laughter to many of us here at the store. When he is not manning the front desk, you may find him out on his center console with his Lovely wife Anne, or hanging out with his Son & Daughter down in Florida in the off season.

Jim Peternell

Sales Associate

Originally learning how to sail in the lakes behind his house in South Carolina, he had caught serious interest in the sailing lifestyle. After mastering the small boat spectrum, Jim shared his sailing knowledge as an instructor in Chicago. After enough time in those cold winters, he then later spent some good time down in Florida, where he caught the serious “bug” of windsurfing. Since then, he has been cruising the waters and living aboard his Islander 36, to which we are fortunate that he has settled down here in Annapolis. Around the shop, Jim helps out with boaters walking in with all kinds of projects and he has good first hand experience and knowledgeable advice to offer.

Chandler Owen

Organizational Specialist

Chandlers superior organizational skills come in big hand when he works his magic around this place. Before & after a big sale, Chan will work his way through the ever-so growing consignment racks, and make them look Top Notch. When he is done working his magic here, you may find Chan in one of MANY small boat circuits he is involved in; for not only is he fantastic around our shop, but he is a very exceptional sailor indeed!
